Abstract

After the collection recovery, the direction of the Cuenca Biennial (2019-2023), intends three curatorships that allowed to show several editions of the Cuenca Biennial art works. There were planned three small exhibitions that shown part of the city's heritage, the historical memory and the path of an emblematic project for the city. Each exhibition has a curatorial text written in three different scenarios that lead to think the Collection and how it can have several understandings and curatorial proposals. The first one is Parábolas de Superficies (2019), containing seven awards-acquisition in the Collection; Máquinas Sensibles (2022) involving eleven works including awards-acquisition, honorable mentions, and donations; and finally, Modulaciones en claroscuro (2023), comprising four works, all awards-acquisition.
