Abstract

Paulina León, curator of 3EIATE interviews Luis Camnitzer. They discuss and the epistemic turn proposed by Camnitzer in wich art switches from a field of objects production (linked to the market) to a teaching instrument for knowledge production. Thereby art works as a means to pose problems and to establish

new and horizontal forms of relations between artists and their audience, and therefore, defying established order.

Author Biography

Paulina León, Mst.

Quito, 1978. Artista, curadora y gestora cultural. Obtuvo su Master en Artes Libres en la Escuela Superior de Artes de Berlín (KHB) y ha sido acreedora de varios reconocimientos como el Premio Paris (Quito 2000), Premio DAAD (Berlín 2004), beca NaFöG (Berlín 2007), beca DAAD (Barcelona 2008), residencia Casa de Velázquez (Madrid 2009), beca del Consejo Nacional de Cine de Ecuador (2012), beca nuevo Mariano Aguilera (Quito 2012), entre otros. Comprometida con el desarrollo crítico de la escena artística de la región, teniendo como línea transversal de reflexión y acción las teorías de género y de la diversidad funcional.
Actualmente es docente de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad Central. Ha participado en exposiciones, festivales, simposios y encuentros en América Latina, Europa y Asia.
