In this paper, a visual analysis is carried out based on three stills from the television series La Mesías (2023), which will be defined as religious fiction. This concept is proposed here as a category of analysis for works, in this case visual works, that reconfigure elements of religious narrative in their own fictional worlds. To broaden the definition of the proposed category, three stills were selected in which aspects of the visual elements characteristic of the representation of Christ in his iconographic tradition are visible: the gesture and the Ascension, which are notable moments in the history of the series. The permanence of sacred images and their validity and updating through cultural products that not only revisit but also reintegrate religious narratives, adjusting them to a specific audience and type of consumption, are confirmed.
