The "Materia Blanca" project explores the intricate relationship between perception, memory, and the subjective construction of reality, specifically focusing on how vision can induce illusory bodily sensations. Employing manipulated lenses and magnifying crystals as optical tools, the work aims to expand visual imagery, evoking the sense of touch through sight. This approach facilitates the study of perceptual shifts and cognitive expansion spurred by technological structures and emergent epistemologies. Furthermore, the project engages with the concept of haptic memory within a post-pandemic context increasingly mediated by digital interactions. "Materia Blanca" challenges traditional scientific methodologies, opting instead for an intimate and sensual data collection method that prioritizes the affective experience of the viewer over rational and economic objectivity.
