Abstract

This article proposes an analytical approach to the object book Mirador: Visions on extractivism. Ecuador 2000-2017, which brings together a series of archives, images, and testimonies about the mining activity in the country and its different levels of social resistance. This work is a collaborative exercise between Sofía Acosta and Adrián Balseca and takes as the study period ten years of government of former President Rafael Correa, who during his tenure activated different mining operations in ecological sensitive sectors, and deepened a development perspective based on natural resources exploitation of.
