COLABORATIVE GEOMETRIES: On Metamodernity and Miguel Braceli’s Collective Project
Main Article Content
Abstract
A questioned modernity seems to be unable to respond to the unbalanced “evolution” of nameless contemporaneity. That´s why its review is needed for “Metamodernity” to appear as a transition for a new moment of thinking. But, how do a new philosophy adapts to Latin America, knowing that its leap into modernity is still unfinished? In the context of difficult socio-economic and political landscape. After reviewing different models of contemporary Latin American architecture this work reviews the study case of Venezuelan Miguel Braceli’s Collective Project. After a complex and complete analysis of his intervention’s repertoire, his work is cataloged as a metamodern response in the middle of the tropics, rethinking the relations between art and architecture and highlighting the group creation processes in order to consider the meaning of social relations in creative practices and citizens responsibility in urban construction.
Key words: Metamodernity, Liquid Modernity, Philosophy and Architecture, Miguel Braceli.
