The present issue of INDEX, a contemporary art magazine, in its Dossier 07 shows diverse methodological approaches to artistic practices. The reflections included here come from several Ecuadorian artists, belonging to different generations. In this way, we can see how artists with a long history work, such as Pilar Flores, or how young collectives such as De Neufville, Segovia and Girales work on their projects. Also, the work of artists with political processes linked to memory, are present in the text of Francois Laso, who analyzes the massacre of the Aztra mill. In our Art Themes section, the proposals have come from different latitudes, which broadens the thinking about the arts at Ibero-American level. Texts from Argentina, Mexico, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Spain and France, tell us about the diversity of problems that address the arts; The approaches of these texts are approached from the history of art, critical thinking, essay and review. In this issue we are accompanied by the visual essay by the Ecuadorian artist Adrián Balseca, who shows us a visual journey through his Estela Blanca project. In this the artist looks critically, historical processes of extractivism, which have unleashed social and environmental crises, given by the capitalist and post-colonial model of these forms of exploitation.
